Job Description Playout Media Manager
For our client, a large international media company which manufactures and distributes over 50 channels worldwide, we are looking for a Playout Media Manager. Our ideal candidate will provide technical and operational expertise and guidance to shift team members. You will also be the first line of contact for internal and inter-departmental issues during shifts.
Furthermore you will be responsible for:
- Overall shift management of all systems in Playout;
- Assist Playout Media Operators with scheduling;
- Manage performance evaluations for the Playout Media Operators and ensure they are trained properly;
- Managing technical and equipment issues within Playout;
- Coordinating with internal/ external clients to make sure all playlists are in the automation system ready for TX;
- Follow-up on logging and reporting of all DR issues encountered;
- Providing support and assistance to Playout Operators in case of emergency;

We are looking for a Playout Media Manager with the following knowledge, skills and experience:
- Good management and leadership skills;
- Visualises, understands and is able to communicate all process of workflow within the operational environment;
- Fluent in English;
- Must be able to stay calm in stressful and unforeseen situations;
- Must be able to work flexible hours (day and night);
- Must have good training skills;
- Complete understanding of:
- Virtualized Playout Automation;
- Remote Playout Automation;
- Virtualized compute;
- Subtitling and graphics standards;
- Basic audio theory, including Dobly E;
- DVB standards;
- Media Management Systems;
It"s definitely a great plus if you have a minimum of 3 year Playout experience or similar experience in a multichannel, multilingual television broadcast operation.
