Job Description Data Migration IT Specialist
For an international organization dealing in office supplies we are looking for a specialist in Data Migration. The Specialist Data Migration is part of a small team that is responsible for the extensive product data migration from various national merchandising systems to a new central system.
The Specialist is a part of the Merchandizing Operations Team and ensures a high quality of all the data that needs to be migrated by making a functional analysis. The specialist is responsible for:
- Execute data migration and provide quantitative- and qualitative reports about the product data for management and system owners
- Keep track and coordinate all the changes in the system and liaises with country-level experts to ensure data consistency
- Partner with different business and system owners to gather all data migration related requirements
- Ensure that business- and system owners understand how the data has been migrated and how they need to be used within the target system
As a Data Migration Specialist you have the following skills / core competencies: attention to detail, collaboration, planning and organizing, problem solving, technical expertise, drive for results, communication and initiative.

Education & Experience:
- Level of work: bachelor;
- Understands high level business processes and how these translate into the actual data to be migrated;
- Minimum of 3 years experience in data migration and data processing projects. For example as a business- or functional analyst;
- Very strong Access and Excel skills, knowledge of Visual Basic is a pre
- Knowledge of programming languages
- Strong knowledge of SQL, experience in working with SQL Server and Oracle
- Fluent in English both orally and in writing is a must: any additional language is an asset;
- Analytical insight at bachelor‘s level;
- Intercultural awareness, shows respect for other cultures;
- Able to use systems to retrieve, analyze and interpret data.
